Tier 1 Hockey Federation will offer showcases for the 2024-25 season. The THF schedule is based on full and partial seasons of home and away games for its member teams. With the growth of the THF, the league wanted to offer showcases to make it easier for teams to play more games within the league.
Starting with the 2024-25 hockey season, MN Hockey has implemented a new rule in regard to Tier 1 sanctioning. This rule eliminates the opportunity for any independent teams within the state to gain sanctioning for Fall/Spring hockey. Due to that change, there is a shift in where the better players in MN are deciding to play their Fall hockey, with many of the better players choosing to play in the MN High Performance league. The teams that make up the High Performance league will be the only Tier 1 sanctioned before/after youth teams in MN.
The THF and MN Hockey have formed a partnership on the THF:MN event (Sept 13-15), with the plan of making the event MN HP vs. Non MN Tier 1 teams. Teams that attend the event will play a 4 game schedule against different teams in the MN High Performance League. These MN teams will be playing a limited number of games outside of their in-state High Performance league, so this is a unique opportunity to play teams you will not see at any point of your season.
Please note that the schedule will be released 7-10 days before the event start date. Teams must be ready to play at 8 am on the first day. Games are scheduled to be completed by 4 p.m. local time on the final day.
