About the Atlantic Cup

The Atlantic Cup has become the largest spring hockey event in Atlantic Canada featuring over 100 male & female teams from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, Newfoundland, and France. It is geared for recreational to AA level players as featured in our Prospect Series. This event will feature a limited number of teams per division due to ice time restrictions. ONLY AHG AND PARTNER TEAMS WILL BE INVITED FOR THIS EVENT. Teams will play a minimum of 5 games during the tournament. 2 games on Friday, 2 games on Saturday, and 1 game on Sunday. Games are structured into two 12-minute and one 15-minute periods, stop-time. Playoffs will be tiered and there will be medals for gold, silver, and bronze. Please note that this event will NOT have any entrance or gate fees.

Divisions + Team Selection

The Atlantic Cup 2025 will feature several divisions of play including for U9, U11, U13, U15. Most divisions will also be tiered based on skill level. Teams will be required to compete with a full roster of 15 skaters and 2 goalies. Team selection criteria (2025 Prospects Series) as per number of recreational or competitive players allowed on rosters must be followed for our tier 1 & tier 2 divisions. Note that for purposes of divisions that it is based off the 2024-2025 minor hockey season. So for example if a player was in U9 (2017/2016) for winter/spring they would be in U9 for this event.
