True Stories From the Crazy World of Hockey Tournaments

Welcome to FLYING RUBBER™
If you’ve spent enough weekends at Hockey tournaments, you already know something important.
Some of the funniest moments happen before the puck drops, after the final whistle, or somewhere between the hotel and the arena.
Welcome to FLYING RUBBER™, a digital Hockey comic series published by The Hockey Tournament Resource™.
Every week, we bring you another entertaining story inspired by the experiences of Hockey families, Players, Coaches, Grandparents, Referees, and tournament organizers.
You Couldn’t Make Some of This Stuff Up!
Have you ever driven six hours to a tournament only to discover you’re playing a Team from your own neighbourhood?
Arrived at the wrong arena with 15 minutes until puck drop?
Watched Parents discover the three-page playoff tiebreaker rules during the third period of their final round-robin game?
Or tried to find your grandchild’s playoff game when nobody remembered to tell you which arena they were playing at?
These aren’t just comic ideas.
They’re situations that have actually happened at Hockey tournaments.
FLYING RUBBER™ takes those experiences and turns them into illustrated stories that Hockey families can enjoy together.
The situations are inspired by real experiences, while characters and dialogue may be fictionalized for entertainment.
A New Comic Every Thursday
Each Thursday, we aim to release a complete digital comic, usually featuring approximately 12 illustrated panels.
No downloads. No printed books. Just entertaining Hockey stories available on your phone, tablet, or computer.
Whether you’re waiting for practice to finish, sitting between tournament games, or relaxing at the hotel, FLYING RUBBER™ is here to make you smile.
Have a Funny Tournament Story?
WE WANT TO HEAR IT!
Tell us about the funniest thing that happened during your Hockey tournament weekend.
Maybe it involved a Coach, a Goalie, a Parent, a Grandparent, or a tournament official.
Your story could inspire an upcoming FLYING RUBBER™ comic.
We may adapt stories for humour and privacy, and we’ll obtain permission before publishing identifiable personal details.

Hockey Is About More Than Winning
Tournaments create friendships, family memories, unforgettable road trips, and occasionally some wonderfully ridiculous situations.
Not every Hockey memory involves a championship trophy.
Sometimes the stories families remember longest are the ones that make everybody laugh.

HOW WE REACHED THE HOCKEY ANSWER™
At The Hockey Tournament Resource™, we believe Hockey families, Players, Coaches and Officials deserve more than opinions. They deserve answers supported by research, experience and practical understanding of the game.
Every question begins with something Hockey people genuinely want to know.
OUR RESEARCH PROCESS
- WE FIND REAL QUESTIONS. We investigate what Hockey Players, Parents, Coaches and Officials are asking and searching for.
- WE SEARCH THE WORLD FOR ANSWERS. We examine relevant Hockey knowledge, coaching practices, available research and expert perspectives from around the world.
- WE COMPARE THE EVIDENCE. We look beyond individual opinions, consider different approaches and identify where the strongest available evidence points.
- WE APPLY REAL HOCKEY EXPERIENCE. We consider how the findings apply to actual Hockey situations, including different ages, skill levels and stages of development.
- WE DELIVER A PRACTICAL ANSWER. We explain what our research suggests, why it matters and what Hockey people can do with that information.
We recognize that not every Hockey question has one perfect answer. Age, ability, experience and individual circumstances can change what works best.
Our commitment is to provide thoughtful, practical answers while being clear about what the evidence supports and where uncertainty remains.
