Skate and Ski Spring Classic
Event Info
There will be a minimum of 4 games scheduled for each Team
Friday games may begin as early as 7 a.m. local time
Select the division that best fits your Team, and our highly skilled staff will ensure you are placed in a competitive division with well-matched teams. Divisions will be created to support competitive tournaments for all teams. In any division, minor, major, or mixed-age group teams may play in the same USA Hockey Age Classification. Kodiak Division- Generally higher-level teams
Grizzly Division-Generally, middle-level teams
Polar Division-Generally lower-level teams
Midget 16U/18U/H.S.J.V./ H.S V teams: May be scheduled in the same divisions. Ice resurfaces after 2 periods of play (time permitting). You may start on clean ice, play 2 periods, go off for a resurface, then play the last period. You may go on dirty ice for a warm-up and 1 period, and go off for a resurface, then play the last two periods.
All teams must be booked through our hotel process with TTS. This is a stay-to-play event for all teams whose home rink is 70 miles or more from the Tournament’s designated main rink. Any teams within the 70-mile limit that are planning to get hotels must also go through our hotel booking.
Event Info:
- This Tournament will be unsanctioned, but still fully insured to guarantee player safety
- All divisions for this Tournament will be based on player birth years for the 2026/27 season
- Each team will be guaranteed 4 games throughout the weekend, with the 4th game acting as a Championship or Consolation game
- The schedule for this event will be released no later than Friday, one week prior to the start date. Any scheduling requests should be emailed to scheduler@bigbeartournaments.com
Spring Discounts:
This Tournament will offer a multi-team discount for clubs and organizations registering more than one Team. The number of teams and age groups should be confirmed before registering by emailing sales@bigbeartournaments.com. Once the registrations are submitted, the discounts will be added to each individual Team.
- 2-3 Teams: $150 off for each
- 4-6 Teams: $300 off for each
- 7 + Teams: $450 off for each
Information for Team Managers and Coaches While at the Tournament:
All scheduled game times are local time for the time zone where the Tournament takes place.
Check In: Upon arrival at the arena, please check in with the on-site Tournament Director
Scoresheets: Paper scoresheets will be used for this tournament. Roster stickers are recommended, but you can also write in each player’s name and number. Remember to pick up a copy of your score sheet after each game.
Game Start Times: All teams must be ready to start up to 15 minutes before each scheduled game time
Uniforms: Home teams will wear white jerseys, Away teams will wear dark jerseys. If you have only one jersey, please coordinate with the opposing team before each game.
Tournament Directors: Throughout the weekend, any questions or concerns related to the schedule, scoring, game times, as well as any potential problems at the rink should be reported directly to the on-site tournament director. Our office is closed on the weekends and any inquiries sent will likely not be responded to in a timely manner.
