TOURNAMENT SANCTIONING

The Montreal Challenge Cup is a Hockey Quebec-sanctioned tournament. Hockey Canada and Hockey Quebec rules will be followed with additional CAN/AM tournament rules. Once you register, a copy of the CAN/AM rules will be available for review. US teams must provide a signed Official USA Hockey Roster at least 60 days before the tournament (some states also require a Travel Permit). Canadian teams must submit the necessary Travel Permit and Official Hockey Roster issued by their governing body (e.g., GTHL, OMHA, Hockey Quebec). No team may participate in the tournament without submitting this information.

AT THE TOURNAMENT

The Tournament headquarters will be in the Sportplexe’s upstairs lobby. Here you will find posted standings, locker room assignments, souvenirs, photos, and as always, the friendly CAN/AM Staff. Tournament Central is where your Team Rep will register before your first game.

All games will be played at the Sportplexe Pierrefonds. Your game schedule will be available about one week before the Tournament Date.  All teams are guaranteed four games. The games begin on Friday at 8:00 a.m.  After the round-robin games are completed, the four top teams in each division will proceed to the Sunday Medal Championship games. By Saturday night, Medal matchups for your division will be set. Will your Team have what it takes to reach a Medal Game on Sunday morning? The Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal Games will be completed by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

In all Divisions, Gold, Silver, and Bronze CAN/AM Championship medals will be awarded to each player. A special Challenge Cup Championship plaque, as well as a first-place CAN/AM banner to hang in their home arena, will be awarded to all Gold Medal teams.
