The Atlantic Cup (Prospects)
A terrific Hockey experience in Halifax, Nova Scotia!
About the Atlantic Cup
The Atlantic Cup has become the largest spring Hockey event in Atlantic Canada, featuring over 100 male & female teams from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, Newfoundland, and France. It is geared for recreational to AA-level players as featured in our Prospect Series. This event will feature a limited number of teams per division due to ice time restrictions. ONLY AHG AND PARTNER TEAMS WILL BE INVITED FOR THIS EVENT. Teams will play a minimum of 5 games during the Tournament: 2 on Friday, 2 on Saturday, and 1 on Sunday. Games are structured into two 12-minute and one 15-minute periods, with stop-time. The playoffs will be tiered, and medals will be awarded for gold, silver, and bronze. Please note that this event will NOT have any entrance or gate fees.
Divisions + Team Selection
The Atlantic Cup will feature several divisions of play, including for U9, U11, U13, and U15. Most divisions will also be tiered based on skill level. Teams will be required to compete with a full roster of 15 skaters and 2 goalies. Team selection criteria (Prospects Series), as per the number of recreational or competitive players allowed on rosters, must be followed for our Tier 1 & Tier 2 divisions. Note that for purposes of divisions, it is based on the minor Hockey season. So, for example, if a Player was in U9 for winter/spring, they would be in U9 for this event.
Accommodations
Teams need to select accommodations from the list of recommended hotels provided by AHG. This is a “stay-and-play” event.
